Kay Hanley

Jeez, it took me long enough.

I got my album artwork back from Aaron Belyea at Alphabet Arm Design today.  I’ve been friends with him since our slacker-kid days in the Boston music scene, but he has since become a formidable presence in the world of graphic design.  In 1997, our band convinced Irving Azoff to let Aaron,  a fledgling graphic artist/indie rocker design the final Letters To Cleo album, “Go!” and I have not used or recommended anyone but him for this kind of work since.  Even though he’s a fancy-pants award winner now, he still takes my calls and churns out the brilliance super fast for my procrastinator ass.  He understands me.

It’s very nice. I stll think you should give Faustus a try for album art sometime.
You in Japanimation would look cool.

  2. Teddy aka Nomah Says:

I like the cover art. Any plans to sell some of the song that did not make the final album cut like Work is For Suckers on itunes or myspace?

  3. Richard Says:

Thank you Kay and USA Mike! Congrats on what I strongly assume will be the best of your music collaborations to date (the best overall collab being Z+H). Cheers.

Vinyl?! Ahhhh, now I have to buy it twice! Oh well…

Let’s see, two CDs (always need a backup copy), one vinyl, and maybe a downloaded copy from iTunes…

Beats the heck out of the old days, mail-ordering Australia for LTC cassingles with heretofore unreleased B-sides.

Let’s just hope there’s not a Japan-only, 33-track ‘Hello Kitty’ flexi-disc option. Ordering that would definitely get
me on a couple governmental lists.

“Hi, I live in your neighborhood, and the State requires that I identify myself as a Kay Hanley fan…”

“Go!” is one of the finest album designs I’ve ever seen. “Push button and wait for rock.” I quoted that in the review I wrote of it in my college paper and said, “Yeah, that basically sums it up.” I can’t wait to hear the new record; I’ll be playing it all summer and buying copies as gifts for friends. Bring it on. And please make many more.

It’s about time! I’ve been jonesing for a new KH release since…..forever!

I’ll admit that I’m bummed Work Is For Suckers didn’t make the cut tho…

Album art rocks!! I had to do a double take to see the weapons as I was clearly trying to see which songs made the cut.

Anywayz….any possible L.A. show to coincide with the album “drop”?

    PLEASE!!!!!!

Been waiting and looking for this CD a long time. Will so gladly be purchasing. I am also interested in “Work is for Suckers”. Could you comment back for the 2 of us needing that tune???
    Thanks!

  17. XkerriX Says:

Oh yeah….I completely spaced on that/those shows. Will you be selling the new CD there? I can’t wait. I’ll be there. It’s been like a year and a half since I saw you @ Spaceland.

  18. Lynette Says:

Dude, he makes you look even cooler than you already are. I didn’t think that was possible. You look almost as cool as ME!

  19. Josh Ulm Says:
