This month we’re giving massive props to our outgoing board member and all-around rock star @KayHanley, a singer, songwriter, performer, and composer who is the co-founder of SONA and continues to serve as a board member of our 510(c)3 nonprofit, The SONA Foundation (@thesonafoundation).

Kay is an Emmy and Peabody Award winning songwriter for TV animation, a singer of the Boston-based rock band Letters To Cleo, and a music copyright advocate/activist. She released 3 acclaimed albums with Letters to Cleo and has since released several solo albums. Hanley has also written songs for TV and film, including for Disney Junior's Vampirina and Doc McStuffins. She is also vice-chair of the Unclaimed Royalties Oversight Committee on the Mechanical Licensing Collective. Currently, she is developing Kindergarten The Musical, which will debut in Fall 2024 on Disney Junior.

It was an honor to sit next to my son @henry.eisenstein this morning listening to @corybooker tell stories about his life growing up in the projects of Newark to his unexpected career in politics. His powerful characterizations of the challenges we face if we want to fight for democracy were both chilling and passionately hopeful. I am so inspired by this man and proud to be a part of @wearesonala, co-host of this awesome fundraiser.
